Effective date: 6 October 2026
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Semikind SRL ("Outfind", "we", "us") collects through the Outfind app, its share extension, the outfind.app website, and related services (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have.
The short version:
- Your imports and wardrobe are private to your account by default. Nothing is public unless you turn on a public profile, and even then your original photos and looks are never shown.
- We use machine learning to detect clothes, not people. We do not perform face recognition and never create or store facial measurements or face embeddings.
- We don't sell your personal data, we don't show third-party ads, and we don't use your content to train AI models.
- You can delete looks, pieces, or your whole account at any time, in the app. Section 6 explains exactly what each one removes.
1. Who is responsible
Semikind SRL, a company registered in the Republic of Moldova at Bd. Decebal 6, MD-2002 Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, is the data controller for the Service.
Contact: contact@outfind.app (privacy questions, rights requests, and everything else).
2. What we collect
| Category | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account data | Your sign-in identifier from Apple or Google, or your email address if you sign in with an emailed code; the name and email your sign-in provider shares; the name and @username you set; your account id; your settings. If you sign in with Apple, also a token Apple issues at sign-in, kept only so we can disconnect Outfind from your Apple ID when you delete your account | You / your sign-in provider |
| Older anonymous accounts | Earlier versions of the app created an anonymous account before sign-in. If you have one, its data moves into your account when you sign in. New installs don't create one | Created automatically by older app versions |
| Imports (User Content) | Photos and screenshots you pick from your camera roll, TikTok and Instagram links you share or paste, and the stills we capture from them | You |
| Derived wardrobe data | The cut-out of the outfit, garment crops, AI-cleaned versions of pieces, garment labels (e.g. "skirt"), colours and other attributes, brands you add, garment image embeddings (numerical descriptions of clothing items, not people), collages | Generated by our ML pipeline from your imports; your edits |
| Public profile | Only if you turn it on: your public name and @username, and the AI-cleaned pieces and/or shared collages you choose to show | You |
| Reports and blocks | Reports you make about another user's public profile, piece, or collage (what you reported and the reason), reports others make about yours, and the users you block | You; other users |
| Shopping data | Product matches (title, retailer, price, currency, sizes, stock, link), your taps on results, favourites, wishlist state, and the text of searches you type in Discover | Generated for you; your in-app actions |
| Price watches | Product links you ask us to watch, size preference, price and stock history for those links, notification events | You; our automated checks |
| Purchase data | Subscription status, plan, trial and renewal state, and app-store transaction identifiers, via our subscription-management provider. We never see your card details — Apple and Google process payment | Our subscription-management provider / Apple / Google |
| Notifications | Your device's push token | Your device, with your permission |
| Support & requests | Emails you send us, takedown requests, rights requests | You |
| Technical logs | Server logs (timestamps, request status, errors) needed to run and secure the Service | Generated automatically |
| Website visits | Standard server logs when you visit outfind.app (IP address, time, page requested, browser type). The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics | Our hosting provider |
What stays on your device: your date of birth (asked once during onboarding to confirm you're 18 or older), your onboarding answers (style, goals, favourite shops), your country setting, and your profile photo. These aren't uploaded to our servers. Your country is sent with shopping searches so results come from stores in your country.
What we deliberately do NOT collect: no advertising identifiers and no third-party ad or analytics SDKs; no precise location; no contacts and no background access. With your permission, the app shows your recent photos so you can pick one quickly, but only the photos you pick are uploaded. We work out your country from your app store, device region and time zone (and, if a request arrives without one, from your IP address's country); you can change it in the app. We collect no facial geometry, face templates, or face-recognition data of any kind. Person cut-outs are pixel-level image segmentations for styling display. They are not biometric identifiers and are never used to identify anyone.
Faces in imports. Imports often show people, so here is exactly what happens to faces. None of it identifies anyone:
- We keep your original import. The photo or still you import is stored privately in your account so the look keeps working. It can show your face and other people's faces, including bystanders. It's deleted as described in Section 6.
- We crop faces out of the outfit cut-out. We detect where a face is (a box around it) and remove everything above the chin from the outfit cut-out we show you. The box is used once, for that cut, and is not stored. Nothing about the face is measured or recorded. The crop is skipped when our check finds the import is a product photo or outfit collage rather than a worn outfit, and if face detection misses or fails the cut-out can still include a face.
- Items worn on the face or head (sunglasses, glasses, hats, earrings) can't be cropped without part of the wearer's face. Those crops, and the garment embeddings computed from them, therefore include part of a face. They are used only to describe and match the item, stay private to your account, and are never used to identify anyone.
3. What we use it for, and the legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Creating and operating your account and wardrobe | Contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Checking each import shows clothing, then processing it with ML to detect garments, build cut-outs, AI clean-ups, and shopping matches | Contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Finding similar products, prices, sizes, and stock for your country | Contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Showing your public profile in Discover, when you turn it on | Contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Handling reports about public content and blocks between users, and keeping the Service safe | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f); Legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c) where a law requires action |
| Watching prices and stock you asked us to watch, and sending the push notifications you enabled | Contract — Art. 6(1)(b); notifications also under your device-level permission |
| Managing subscriptions, trials, and limits | Contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Securing the Service, preventing fraud and abuse, enforcing limits | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Handling copyright, subject-takedown, and privacy-rights requests | Legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c) |
| Tax, accounting, and record-keeping | Legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c) |
Automated processing. Garment detection, the import check, and product ranking are automated, but they only shape what you see in the app. They don't produce legal or similarly significant effects, restrict your access, or set personalised prices. We do not use your content or data to train machine-learning models.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers acting on our instructions under data-processing agreements, and only what each needs:
| Type of provider | Role | What they process |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud hosting and database | Database, authentication (including sending sign-in code emails), file storage, server functions | Account data, imports, wardrobe data, shopping data, watches |
| Machine-learning processing | Garment detection, segmentation, embeddings, collage composition, and retrieval of retailer product pages | Import images and crops during processing; the text of Discover searches; product URLs |
| AI provider (import check) | An AI check on each import: whether it shows clothing, and what kind (a worn outfit, a garment, a collage) | The image you import, or the stills captured from a link. Sent for processing, not for training |
| Visual product search | Finding similar products from search-engine results | A garment crop from your import via a link that expires after 10 minutes, a garment word, and your country and language. No account identity. For items worn on the face or head, the crop includes part of the wearer's face |
| Web-data provider | Retrieval of certain retailer product pages for prices, sizes, and stock | Product URLs and country only. No user content or identity |
| AI provider (image generation) | Generating AI clean-ups of your pieces (Outfind Pro) | The garment crops being cleaned up (for items worn on the face or head, these include part of the wearer's face). Sent for processing, not for training |
| Subscription management | Managing subscriptions, trials, and renewals | Your account id, app-store transaction identifiers, subscription state |
| Apple / Google | Sign-in, payments, push-notification delivery | Per their own privacy policies |
| Push-notification service | Delivering notifications to your device | Your device's push token and the notification's content |
| Affiliate networks | Routing the click when you tap through to a retailer | The product link and the click; the affiliate id travels in the URL |
The current list of providers is available on request at contact@outfind.app.
Others who receive data as independent parties (under their own privacy policies, not our instructions):
- TikTok and Instagram (Meta). When you import a link, the app plays the post in the platform's official embedded player on your device to capture stills. The platform receives what any viewer of that post would: your device's IP address, its cookies for that platform, and which post was viewed.
- On-device detection library. A machine-learning library runs on your device to find people and faces in the photos you pick. Your images never leave your device for this, but the library may send its developer performance and usage metrics about the feature.
- Retailers and affiliate networks. When you open a product, the retailer (and any network routing the click) may set their own cookies. We also fetch public product pages from retailers to read prices, sizes, and stock. That sends only the product URL, never anything about you.
- Other Outfind users, only if you turn on a public profile (Section 7a).
Two other cases:
- Authorities, when the law requires it (for example a court order, or a valid request from the police or a regulator), or to protect our users or the Service. We disclose only what is legally required.
- A buyer or successor. If Semikind SRL is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its business, your personal data may pass to the new owner, who must keep protecting it under this policy. We'll tell you in the app before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We update this list when it changes. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we don't share it with data brokers or advertisers.
5. International transfers
Some providers process data in the United States and other countries outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK–US Data Bridge or EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or another lawful mechanism. Copies of relevant safeguards are available on request at contact@outfind.app.
6. How long we keep things
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Your original imports (the photo or still you imported) | Kept while the look it belongs to is in your account, including looks you've hidden or archived. Deleted when you delete that look or your account |
| Wardrobe data (crops, cut-outs, AI clean-ups, embeddings, matches) | While your account is active. Deleted when you delete the look it came from or your account |
| Pieces you delete, and looks you hide | Removed from your view but kept, hidden, until you delete the look they belong to or your account |
| Looks you delete while one of their pieces is on a collage | Archived rather than deleted, so the collage keeps working. Kept until you delete your account |
| Price watches and price history | While the watch is active. Price history is capped at about 180 days. Deleted with the watch or your account |
| Reports and blocks | Reports are kept as a moderation record until the reporting or the reported account is deleted. Blocks are kept until you delete your account, or ask us to lift one |
| Apple sign-in token | Until you delete your account; we use it once, to disconnect Outfind from your Apple ID, then delete it |
| Cached retailer data (prices and sizes per product URL) | A short-lived operational cache, not linked to your identity |
| Subscription records | Our subscription-management provider keeps the subscription history it holds for us (app-store transaction ids, no card details) after you delete your account. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records |
| Import-check log | Each import's automated check result (category, confidence, time — no images) is kept after you delete your account, with nothing linking it to you |
| Support and rights-request correspondence | Up to 2 years after the request is resolved |
| Server logs and backups | Kept for a limited period by our hosting providers, then deleted on a rolling basis |
Deleting your account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account) deletes your account, your looks, pieces, originals, collages, favourites, collections, watches, push tokens, profile, reports and blocks, Apple sign-in token, and subscription status straight away. If you signed in with Apple or Google, we also ask Apple or Google to disconnect Outfind from that account. Only the subscription records and the de-identified import-check log above remain, plus copies of your public pieces that other users saved (Section 7a).
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and similar laws), you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Delete your data (and delete your account entirely, directly in the app);
- Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Port data you provided to another service in a machine-readable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis (for example push notifications, which you can switch off in your device settings);
- Complain to your supervisory authority — in the UK, the ICO (ico.org.uk); in the EU, your local data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
To exercise any right, use the in-app controls or email contact@outfind.app. We respond within one month and may need to verify your identity. We never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
If you appear in someone else's import (you're not the user, but you're in the photo or video): you can ask us to remove that content. Email contact@outfind.app with a description of the content and reasonable proof of identity. We aim to respond within 7 days.
7a. Public profiles and Discover
Your profile is private until you turn on Public profile in Settings. While it's on, every signed-in Outfind user can find it in Discover (by browsing, or by searching your name or @username) and see your public name, your @username and, depending on what you choose to share, the AI-cleaned versions of pieces in your wardrobe (with their category, attributes, and brand) and/or collages you've shared. Your original photos, outfit cut-outs, and looks are never shown.
Reporting and blocking. Any public profile, and any piece or collage on it, can be reported from the app. We review reports and may hide content, turn a profile private, or close an account. The reported user is not told who reported them. You can also block a user: a block hides the two of you from each other in Discover, people search, and profiles. Blocks are not shown to anyone.
Other users can save a copy of a public piece into their own wardrobe. Those copies belong to their accounts, so they stay even if you later turn your public profile off or delete your account. Turning the profile off removes it, and everything on it, from Discover straight away.
8. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
We collect the categories described in Section 2 (identifiers, commercial information, visual content you provide, and derived non-biometric inferences about clothing) for the purposes in Section 3. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we don't use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right-to-limit notice. California residents may exercise the rights to know, delete, correct, and portability by emailing contact@outfind.app or in the app, without discrimination. Authorised agents may submit requests with proof of authority.
9. Children
The Service is for users 18 and older. During onboarding we ask for your date of birth, which stays on your device, and the app doesn't let anyone under 18 continue. The Service is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we hold personal data of a user under 18, we will delete the account and its data. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact contact@outfind.app.
10. Security
We use TLS encryption in transit and encryption at rest, private storage that is only reachable through time-limited signed links, row-level security on the database, least-privilege service keys, and access controls limiting who at Outfind can touch production data. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant regulator within legally required timeframes (72 hours to the ICO where applicable).
11. Push notifications
We send two kinds of notification, and only for products you're watching: a price drop and back in stock (in your size, if you chose one). They're sent only if you allow notifications on your device, and you can turn them off at any time in your device settings. Your device's push token is deleted when you delete your account, or when your device tells us it's no longer valid.
12. Third-party sites
Tapping a product opens the retailer's site in an in-app browser. Retailers, and affiliate networks that route the click, act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies. We recommend reviewing their policies — what happens on a retailer's site is outside our control.
12a. Our website
outfind.app is a simple informational site. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads nothing from advertising networks. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page, browser type) for a limited period to run and secure the site. Links to the App Store and Google Play take you to Apple's and Google's sites under their own privacy policies.
13. Changes to this policy
When the product changes, this policy changes with it. For material changes we will notify you in the app before they take effect, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent. We keep earlier versions; email contact@outfind.app for a copy.
